Chinese pianist Lang Lang, born in 1982, is a superstar with millions of albums sold. Charismatic, virtuosic, and highly active on social media, he performs all over the world and is deeply loved by young audiences, thanks to his collaborations across different musical genres with artists like Metallica, John Legend, Pharrell Williams, and jazz legend Herbie Hancock. He returns to the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia after just over two years, presenting a fascinating program that ranges from the brilliant Mozart Rondo K485 and two famous sonatas—the “Pathétique” and the Sonata Op. 110, the penultimate in Beethoven’s catalog (whose death bicentennial will be commemorated in 2027)—to the Mediterranean atmospheres of Albéniz and Granados.
