Rachmaninoff Sonata for Cello and Piano, Op. 19
Kian Soltani, a cello virtuoso with a flair for blending worlds, offers a program rich in contrasts. It opens with the Persian Folk Songs by contemporary Iranian composer Reza Vali—a tribute to Soltani’s cultural roots, steeped in ancient echoes—followed by Schubert’s beloved Arpeggione Sonata, a paragon of melodic grace, and concludes with Rachmaninoff’s Sonata Op. 19. At the piano is Jae Hong Park, winner of the 2021 Busoni Competition.
