On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Giacomo Puccini’s death (Lucca 1858 – Brussels 1924), the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia will open the 2024-2025 Symphonic Season with a concert performance of the three-act opera Tosca by the composer from Lucca. The opening concert will not only mark the inauguration of Daniel Harding as the new Music Director of the Orchestra and Choir of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia but also his debut conducting this opera.

The cast will feature Eleonora Buratto, who made her debut as Tosca on May 20 at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, joined by American tenor Jonathan Tetelman (Cavaradossi), French baritone Ludovic Tézier as the wicked and sadistic Scarpia, and Giorgi Manoshvili (Cesare Angelotti).
