In his second concert of the season, Daniele Gatti continues exploring the German Romantic repertoire with excerpts from Wagner’s Twilight of the Gods and the overwhelming symphonic poem A Hero’s Life by Richard Strauss. It is a confrontation between heroes: Siegfried from Wagner’s mythology and Strauss’s own modern hero in this autobiographical work.
