A second appointment with Myung-Whun Chung on the podium of the Choir and Orchestra of the Accademia. Two diametrically opposed compositions are juxtaposed: Schubert’s lyrical and melancholic Unfinished Symphony, woven with simple yet poignant melodies, and Rossini’s sculpted and intensely dramatic Stabat Mater. From the nostalgic world of Schubert’s Romanticism to the classical tradition interspersed with Rossini’s theatrical elements.
