Orchestral specialization seminars

The orchestral specialization seminars are post-graduate seminars aimed at instrumentalists in possession of outstanding playing qualities who want to pursue a professional career in music. The seminars are taught by the Principals of the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.

They are dedicated to the preparation and interpretation of orchestral passages and pieces from the solo repertoire – with particular attention to the most common programs for auditions or competitions – as well as to the diagnosis and proposal of solutions relating to specific instrumental problems.

The seminars last one year, with the possibility of attending for up to two or three years; at the end of first year a certificate of attendance will be issued, while at the end of the two or three-year period a Certificate of Merit will be issued from Santa Cecilia National Academy.

Particularly deserving students may be involved in artistic activities organized during the year, such as, for example, the participation in the concerts of the Ensemble Novecento.

The seminar are open to the enrolment of auditors.
