Biography

Andrea Lucchi is the First solo Trumpet of the Santa Cecilia National Academy Orchestra. He graduated from the Gioacchino Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro and completed his studies distinguishing himself at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold, Germany.

During his career, he has had numerous collaborations with some of the most important national and international symphony orchestras, including the RAI Symphony Orchestra, the La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra, the NDR Symphony Orchestra of Hamburg, the SWR Orchestra of Freiburg and the Royal Concertgebow of Amsterdam. While teaching at several important national and international educational institutions, he has played in every continent under the direction of the most important names in classical music, including Antonio Pappano, Riccardo Muti, Kurt Masur, George Prêtre, Lorin Maazel, and Valery Gergiev. Winner of some international awards, he distinguished himself in the ARD competitions of Monaco, CIEM of Geneva, Porcia, Ponchielli of Cremona, and Stresa. The numerous recordings, among which many for radio and television, include the Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra by H. Tomasi with the RAI National Symphony Orchestra (2003- Publisher: Video Radio Classics).
