The “Beethoven 2027” project continues with the Quatuor Ébène, among the most celebrated ensembles of our time. This second installment of the Beethoven cycle opens with the Quartet Op. 18 No. 2, still rooted in Haydn’s legacy yet full of vitality. The Op. 135, Beethoven’s final completed quartet, alternates lightness and profundity. The concert closes with the Op. 131, a seven-movement work of extraordinary complexity and mystery.
