Brahms Piano Concerto No. 1
Elgar Enigma Variations
In the sixth concert of the season with the Roman audience, Music Director Daniel Harding continues his exploration of Brahms’s piano works with the Piano Concerto No. 1, performed by Russian-German pianist Igor Levit, one of the foremost interpreters of this repertoire. The work’s expressive power, technical challenges, and intellectual depth make it one of Brahms’s most intense and unforgettable creations.
In the second half, the program pays homage to Edward Elgar’s England — noble, ironic, and deeply human — with the composer’s beloved Enigma Variations.
