Bruckner Symphony No. 9
The sense of anticipation, metaphysical suspension, and ascent towards another realm—perhaps the afterlife—are key elements in Bruckner’s final Ninth Symphony, dedicated “to the good Lord”. Daniele Gatti pairs it with two intense choral works by Brahms, which also reflect on the meaning of life: The Song of the Fates and The Song of Destiny.
