Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 3
Bartók Concerto for orchestra
For his return to the podium of our orchestra, Juraj Valčuha has assembled a program that opens with one of the most daunting challenges for any pianist: Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 — an epic journey of poignant lyricism and dazzling virtuosity, entrusted to the energy of Behzod Abduraimov.
The spotlight then widens to embrace the entire orchestra with Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra — a work born of exile and nostalgia, transforming the ensemble into a single, multifaceted protagonist, moving between nocturnal elegies and wild dances.
