conductor Daniel Harding
violin Joshua Bell ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
Mahler: The Symphonies
Mahler Blumine
Dvořák Violin Concerto
Mahler Symphony No. 1 “Titan”
Harding begins a complete cycle of Mahler’s symphonies with this concert series, which will continue chronologically in upcoming seasons. It starts, of course, with the First Symphony “Titan”, which Harding complements with the Blumine movement, later removed by the composer. Joshua Bell, artist-in-residence, performs Dvořák’s Violin Concerto, which, for its rich expression, lyrical intensity, harmonic invention, and brilliant ideas, has become one of Dvořák’s most popular works, alongside the New World Symphony and Cello Concerto.
