Santa Cecilia Tour
Europe 2026

Music Director Daniel Harding is once again ready to set off with his Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia on a tour of Central Europe from April 13 to 18, alongside pianist Igor Levit. Together, they will perform in Paris (Philharmonie, April 13), Brussels (Bozar, April 14), Cologne (Philharmonie, April 15), Baden-Baden (Festspielhaus, April 17), and Frankfurt (Alte Oper, April 18).

The soloist and conductor will bring the same program performed in Rome, at the Sala Santa Cecilia, just a few days before departure: Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1 and Elgar’s Enigma Variations.

This marks a continuation of the Accademia’s international commitment, which in recent years has focused significantly on its presence within the global musical landscape. This is further confirmed by the magazine Bachtrack, which analyzes the activities of major musical institutions worldwide and ranked the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia sixth in its international ranking of major orchestras based on the number of countries visited on tour over the last three years.

A recent article in Il Sole24Ore (“Orchestra di Santa Cecilia among the first in the world for foreign tours and productions”) reports a statement by President-Superintendent Massimo Biscardi: “I believe it is also important for Italy that institutions like the Accademia or Milan’s La Scala appear on the programs of the world’s greatest theaters. Santa Cecilia must continue on this path, further developing its activities abroad.” In 2025, 29 concerts were held away from home, an increase compared to the 24 stops in 2023 and 27 in 2024, with three major tours that took the Orchestra and Music Director Harding to numerous countries across Asia and Europe.

Over 35,000 spectators attended the 21 European stages, and approximately 19,000 attended the Asian dates, with seven “sold out” concerts.
